Jennifer first discovered Pilates after years of bad posture, baby holding, and sitting at a desk caught up with her in the form of a neck injury.   With three slipped discs in her cervical spine and unrelenting nerve pain she went from doctor to doctor looking for relief and answers. The first three doctors told her that spinal fusion was the only answer and that the surgery should be done immediately.  Doctor number four was different, he prescribed physical therapy followed by Pilates.  She didn’t know what Pilates was but she was going to try it.  It was love at first class.

Fast forward five years - Jennifer completed her comprehensive training with Polestar Pilates in 2016 and became a Practitioner of Pilates Studio.  She continues to work with Polestar Education in their Mentor program working with students and assisting educators.  Through her continuing education Jennifer is also a licensed Buff Bones instructor, specializing in Pilates workouts that are safe for those with low bone density.   She also has completed courses in Pilates for Neurological Conditions, Hip & Knee Replacement Pilates, and is a Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher through the PMA.  She is committed to always be a student and never stop learning.

She loves the ability of Pilates to help you be better at every day life.  Pilates can make you stronger, more mobile, more flexible, improve your balance, become more connected and aware of your body, improve your breathing, improve your posture – the benefits go on and on.   Jennifer also appreciates that Pilates can be adapted for every body and it is NOT a group sport.

Every journey is different and Pilates can meet you where you are at.

I don’t do Pilates just to be better at Pilates. I do Pilates so that I can be better at doing everything else in life. Pilates is for every age, body type and fitness level.
